Ephemeral yet eternal?

“Life wasn’t about becoming, was it? It was about being … And everything was ephemeral, yet everything was eternal.” - Kate Atkinson, Life After Life

We live in a culture that’s always striving for the next thing. We are one thing and we’re always becoming something else. But, there’s something to be said for resting in the moment. For taking each day as it comes. For being, not doing.

That’s what I’ll be exploring in this newsletter. There will be posts on books and music I’m enjoying in the moment. There may be some commentary now and again on what I notice in the world around me. The undercurrent for it all, though, is the eternal nature of faith.

I once was a journalist. Now I'm not. I still love to tell stories and I'm still finding my post-reporting writing voice to tell even more stories. Fascinated with history, books and music, but can be easily tempted to explore any number of topics.
